Creating a Certification Case

Before you can serve up a one-on-one certification case, you need to write up the scenario for learners to tackle.

Open up 'Certifications' from the left-hand menu in the Admin Portal. There are two types of certification:

Video Screen Share

This view works as a video conferencing set-up for one learner and one coach.

Coaches then present learners with a case for discussion. For example, the case might call for the coach to role play an upset customer and have the learner deescalate the situation.

This view does not share video of either the learner or the coach, but instead shares the learner's screen as they navigate through an assigned software simulation. This can be the Bright window only or the Learner's full screen to allow the coach to see other information such as a KB.

Coaches might opt to ask questions of the learner while they are navigating the system.

Once you've decided what type of certification cases to build, go ahead and open the Certifications page from the Admin Panel. Click 'Create New Certification' and follow the steps below:

  1. Name the Certification - This is the text that will appear in the platform for the Coach to pick a certification; the Learner will also see this title next to their scores and comments after they complete a Certification Session.
  2. [For Screen Share ONLY] Select an Associated Canvas - This will determine which canvas is served up for the learner during the certification session.

  3. Type a Description - This text is for Admin reference only. It will not be visible to Coaches or Learners.
  4. Select the Skills Tags - Select the Skills tags that align with what you are measuring during the certification. Coaches will be able to rate learners' performance based on these.

  5. Select a Team Tag - Just like simulations and moments, you can tag a certification case to a particular Tier 1 team.
  6. Select a Certification Status - if you choose 'Active' the Certification will immediately be available for Coach use.
  7. Save

  8. Unlike Simulations, Moments and Resources, you do not need to assign Certifications. Coaches will select the appropriate case while live with the Learner.
