How to Rate Moments

Use Bright's 4 star system to rate learners' performance.

Recording and Writing Moments are routed to your Coach Inbox, where you can listen to or read a learner's submission, provide comments and feedback, and rate them on a 1-4 star scale.

Different organizations choose to use the Star Rating scale differently, but in general we recommend that you think about them as follows:

By default, all Moments are set so that a learner must receive at least 3 Stars to 'pass.' Any score lower than 3 stars will send the Moment back to the learner's 'Keep Practicing' section on 'My Path,' along with your comments.
  • 2 Stars means the learner is 'close' but is missing some key element of the skill or knowledge set being evaluated.
  • 3 Stars means they have met expectations, and satisfied all criteria outlined in the 'Coach Guidance' section, as defined by your organization. This is good outcome that most learners should be striving for!
  • Star ratings of 1 should be reserved for learners who are notably far off from the desired skill level, or who clearly did not read the instructions for the Moment.
  • Star ratings of 4 should reserved for learners who outperform. You may even want to save these recordings to feature elsewhere in Bright, or for future 'Shadowing' moments.
These points are intended as general guidance. Speak with your organization's training or HR team for more details.
