Videos on Bright: Understanding Vimeo Integration

Videos loaded into Bright are hosted by Vimeo.

Bright uses deep integration with Vimeo to give users a world-class video experience in the platform. Here is how our integration works, and how to load videos in Bright.

Default Settings

By default, Bright's Vimeo settings include the following:
  • Making all content private, requiring a private link to view, and making it non-searchable to any users without the private link
  • Turning off sharing, comments, and other 'social' features
  • Removing all Vimeo branding, including video recommendations at the end of videos
  • Enabling the playbar control, but removing other video control features

The goal of these settings is to enable videos to be embedded in the Bright platform as a seamless feature, and avoid learning distractions. The Bright team can make changes to these settings on certain videos, if desired. Reach out to your CX Manager for details.

Adding a Video to a Moment

To add a video to Bright, simply follow these steps:

  1. Download the video file to your desktop in .mp4, .avi or .wmv format

    1. As general guidance, you should have a file that is no larger than 1G. Most videos that are on Bright are under 500 MBs. If your file is much larger, you should compress it.

  2. Either Browse for the video file or simply drag and drop it into Bright  Screen Shot 2023-05-26 at 2.07.18 PM

  3. Wait for the file to upload: be aware that this timeline depends on your internet speed and the size of the file you are loading.

  4. Check the video on Vimeo to ensure that it is completely uploaded and transcoded, by opening the link populated in Bright in another window. If you try to preview or view the moment before this process is complete, the video will not load.
