Understanding User Roles on Bright

There are 4 different user roles on the Bright platform.

The first thing to understand about the types of users on Bright is that they are cumulative. Everyone on the platform is a learner, with their own assignment path. Coaches have the ability to rate performance and review reporting for their team(s). Admins are learners and coaches who also have the ability to create new content and organize it. Super Admins are learners, coaches, and admins who can control user provisioning and assignments. Let's break that all down.

Learners

Every user on Bright is a Learner who can be assigned a path and receive coaching on their own performance. That feedback comes in as a message on their alert bell. Their performance data is populated in our Reporting tab.

Coaches

These users can be assigned to one or more teams to provide performance coaching in the Coaching Inbox or via Certification. One of the most frequent questions we get from coaches is, "The number of alerts I have doesn't match what it's in my coaching inbox," This is almost always because they have coaching or feedback in the 'My Path' page to review as a learner!

Admins + SuperAdmins

These users create and organize content for learners. SuperAdmins have additional capabilities which allow them to manager user provisioning, assignment paths, and some branding elements, such as the Welcome Placement. In addition, all Admins have access to Bright Academy where there a ton of self paced, digital lessons to up-skill on how to wield this powerful platform. See this high-level summary of the differences between Admins and SuperAdmins.
